Song Writing in various ensembles
For the latest song writing activity see the And Then We Danced website for details of the 'The Chain Making Women' song cycle.
Harper Bourne existed as an ensemble between June 2009 and December 2010 consisting of the mellifluous vocal talent of Victoria Bourne, the vibrant guitar playing of Chris Harper and the relentless rhythms of cajon wizard Jim Tetlow. Their music combined flamenco inspired songs and instrumentals with a distinctly western approach to songwriting. Taking as inspiration the poetry of Federico Garcia Lorca, original lyrics by Bourne and the music of Juan Martin, Harper Bourne created an atmosphere reminiscent of and indeed inspired by the soundtracks of Pedro Almodovar films.

From the summer of 2009 to the winter of early 2010 Bluestave explored a range of musical styles from flamenco to folk to classical with influences as varied as Olivier Messiaen, Tim Buckley and Milan Kundera. Employing the unconventional line up of four female vocalists (each of whom also contributed percussion) and one acoustic guitarist Bluestave was founded on the principles of variety and the freedom to be traditional or otherwise.
